John Dunbar

With sadness in our hearts we share the loss of our colleague John Dunbar.

John was a good friend,  mentor and always looking for that elusive piece to grow his own collection.

He started very early in the Antique business, with vast knowlegde of which he was so generous to share making him a trademark in his field.  He will be missed and we will all remember him for his smile and, of course, his varied collection of hats. One of his favourites, we believe, was his scout hat.

Rest in peace, John. We are so glad to have made your acquaintance.  We will miss seeing the “LionKing” license plate parked in Main Thru Church Antiques Mall here in Orono.

John was a brilliant antique dealer and the smartest man I ever knew. In my time with John, I learned so much about so many things. He was a fountain of knowledge. He had a bright smile and a kind and generous manner. I hope you are resting in peace now John and that you know how much we all miss you.

  2. John was a super nice guy with a gentle soul. I bought a lot of cool items from him and I enjoyed our talks about antiques and the business. I’m sorry to hear about his passing…☹️
