Born in Petrolia, Ontario, Poppa lived an amazing and adventurous life. From his young years joining the military to serve his country during WW11, to his dedication to St. John’s Ambulance, his 50 years of brotherhood in the Mason’s and Shriners, creating Poppa’s Pine Products for over 30 years, and finally following his dream in 2006 at the age of 81 to become a Folk Artist.
These last 14 years Poppa created over 1500 pieces of Folk Art which reside in four continents and at least eight countries. Each new visitor that enjoyed his folk art was presented with a piece to remember his works. At the time of his passing, the planning details of a huge exhibit of his works was in the planning.
He leaves behind his wife of 71 years Madge “Granny” Wilson proprietor of Granny’s Boot Antiques in Vineland, Ontario. He will be missed.
