- Flea Markets
-
- 1. Haggle with, but don't insult, flea market vendors.
Most vendors will haggle, especially with discounts for multiple
purchases
-
- 2. Give vendors your Want List. Being in the buy-and-sell
business, they can often find that elusive something you have
been wanting to purchase
-
- 3. Handle fragile items with care. Accidents do happen
but, as in any store, if you break something, you will likely
be asked to pay for the item
-
- 4. Keep the chats brief , browsers. Time is money
for busy vendors and lengthy "when I was a kid" stories
in confined areas can cost customers
-
- 5. Parents, supervise your children. Children let
loose in flea markets can be a vendor's worst nightmare, especially
if selling toys and games
-
- 6. Be courteous. The men and women who set up flea
market stalls across Ontario devote a lot of time and effort
to the business
-
- 7. Read up on reproduction furniture. Reproductions
are common and the wise shopper will ask questions and learn
how to tell the difference
-
- 8. Vendors are buyers too. If you have collectibles
to sell, ask vendors if they are interested in buying your items
-
- 9. Big item, little car? - Some vendors selling larger
items do offer regional delivery service or will give you time
to arrange your own pickup
-
- 10. Rent your own flea market space. If you are a people
person with things to sell, rent a flea market stall and try
the experience
